Most obituaries published in the Reading Eagle are submitted through funeral homes and cremation services, but we will accept submissions from families. Obituaries can be emailed to .

In addition to the text of the obituary, any photographs that you wish to include can be attached to this email. Please put the text of the obituary in a Word document, a Google document or in the body of the email. The Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify the death, so please include either the phone number of the funeral home or cremation service that is in charge of the deceased's care or a photo of his/her death certificate. We also request that your full name, phone number and address are all included in this email.

All payments by families must be made with a credit card. We will send a proof of the completed obituary before we require payment. The obituary cannot run, however, until we receive payment in full.

Obituaries can be submitted for any future date, but they must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. the day prior to its running for it to be published.

Mckenna Bucks

The daughter of Ann Sterley and Michael Bucks of Kutztown, Mckenna has been involved in Drama Club, Marching Band, Science Olympiad, National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Historical Honor Society, Envirothon and Dance Team. Also, she volunteers with the younger dance students.

McKenna states that she admires her mom because she is the hardest worker she knows and would do anything for someone she cared about.

Her future plans include attending college and focusing on architecture.

Steven Zhang

The son of Min Chai Chen and Ming Qiang Zhang of Fleetwood, Steven has been involved in Rho Kappa National Honor Historical Society, National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, Computer Club, Science Olympiad, Math Club, Chess Club, Band, Berks Science Fair, Track and Field, Jr. County Band and Orchestra, and Sr. County Band. Also, he volunteers at the Fleetwood Area Public Library, Pond Clean-up, Miller-Keystone Blood Drive, Canteen Helper, STEM YEA helper, and as a stage helper for middle school concerts.

Steven really admires a group called Yes Theory. He states this group is known for their philosophy of embracing discomfort and encouraging strangers and friends to go beyond their boundaries and conquer their fears through challenges such as skydiving.

His future plans include attending college and focusing on engineering.
