Florida State Soccer “taking nothing for granted” following massive first round win

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida State soccer is trying not to get complacent after a dominant 8-0 win in their first NCAA tournament game, which saw seven players find the back of the net. Last year's first round game was a similar story. The Seminoles beat Morehead 5-0, but then barely snuck by Texas A&M 1-0 in the next round. Basically, just because goes were easy to come by on Friday doesn't mean that high-production offense will continue. "We have a lot of leaders on our team and we all constantly remind each other that we have to earn everything and it's not just going to come to us easy," said sophomore Jordynn Dudley. Head coach Brian Pensky echoed her thoughts. "We talked about it a couple days ago that UCLA was the reigning champion a year ago and a year ago tonight they lost in first round. So we're taking nothing for granted and nobody for granted." Kick off in the second round is set for 5:30 p.m. against Vanderbilt at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
