Free Alzheimer’s Symposium during Awareness Month

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - It's estimated that seven million people are currently living with Alzheimer's Disease, and that number is expected to top 13 million by the year 2050. To spotlight the challenges and take action now, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Garrison Institute on Aging is hosting an Alzheimer's Awareness Symposium on Nov. 19 with the featured speaker from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Allison Applebaum, Ph.D., will be focusing on attention to the caregiver. There will also be vendors there and a continental breakfast and lunch.
