GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Rose Marie Williams, 67, of Gainesville was arrested for hitting her 86-year-old relative, refusing to allow bystanders to help.

On Thursday evening, Williams struck the elderly woman in the head, and refused to allow her to get up.

The elderly woman couldn't get up by herself, due to her age, court records said.

Once officials arrived on scene, Williams ignored commands to open the door and proceeded to hit the elderly woman with a door, several times while trying to pull her by her legs further into the residence.

The elderly woman was transported to the emergency room shortly after, and her condition is unknown.

Upon arrest, Williams kicked the arresting officer multiple times.

Williams is facing charges of aggravated battery, kidnapping and resisting an officer.
