Garden flag found in stomach of starved Harrisburg dog, now facing euthanization
UPDATE | Speranza Animal Rescue posted a heartbreaking update Friday afternoon regarding Beverly, a starving dog found on a porch in Harrisburg.
While in surgery, veterinarians discovered she had eaten a garden flag, which had become wrapped around her intestines.
The flag is so badly entangled, doctors say they cannot remove it.
Speranza said Beverly will unfortunately have to be euthanized.
In an update provided by Speranza Animal Rescue, the dog, now named Beverly had been struggling to eat for some time.
After being examined by doctors, a large mass was found in her stomach.

It is currently unclear what the mass is, so Beverly is now scheduled to undergo surgery in an attempt to remedy or remove it.
Doctors have warned Speranza however, that the surgery is riskier, and Beverly might not survive. They also offered euthanization, but Speranza believes she is a fighter, and is asking the public for prayers to give Beverly the best chance at survival.
