Gardena Police Searching For Missing Man, 79
Police asked for the public's help Thursday to find a 79-year-old man suffering from depression who went missing in Gardena.
Young Joo Jin was last seen at about 2 p.m. on June 25, according to the Gardena Police Department. Jin left his home at 1830 W. 147th St. to go on a walk but he never returned, police said.
Jin takes medication to manage his blood pressure and cholesterol and has recently talked about not wanting to live after surviving a stroke, police added.
Jin is Asian-American. He stands 5-feet-6 inches tall and has a thin build. He was last seen wearing a straw hat, red sweater vest and gray pants, and frequents Gardena, Koreatown and the Palmdale area, police said.
