Gary Rome Hyundai in Holyoke holds 4th annual Trees of Hope fundraiser
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – An annual fundraiser in Holyoke is giving hospitalized kids and their families a "home-away-from-home" for the holidays.
The Ronald McDonald House of Springfield held their 4th annual "Trees of Hope" holiday celebration at Gary Rome Hyundai this evening. The dealership turned its showroom into a winter wonderland filled with 50 decorated trees and gifts, all being raffled off.
The proceeds go back into supporting the 140 families at Ronald McDonald House of Springfield serves. It provides children with meals, lodging and gives them access to medical care.
"It was healing, something that felt like it was the worst thing that could have happened turned into the greatest blessing and we're just so grateful," said Amanda Johnson of Athol.
"Ronald MacDonald House is such a great organization does so much for families in need. And all the money stays right here in the community," added owner of Gary Rome Hyundai, Gary Rome.
Gary Rome Hyundai hopes this event raises $200,000 for the Ronald McDonald House. And on November 17th, Gary Rome will be hosting a holiday craft fair.
