Gaston County woman turns $2 ticket into $217K jackpot

GASTONIA, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Gaston County woman is celebrating after turning a $2 Fast Play ticket into a jackpot worth more than $217,000, according to the NC Education Lottery.

Tammy Wade from Gastonia bought her lucky $2 'Break the Bank' ticket from Tom's Family Mart on Stony Point Road in Kings Mountain. Lottery officials say the jackpot was about $1.09 million at the time the ticket was purchased. Since Wade bought a $2 ticket, she received 20% of the progressive jackpot.

Fast Play features an instantly growing jackpot that increases with every ticket sold until it's won. As of Tuesday morning, it stands at $721,000.
