Gaylord Palms 'ICE!' returns to Florida today. See ticket prices, what to know before you go

The best way to spread Christmas cheer may be to sing loud for all to hear. Or you can experience the holiday spirit at one of Florida's top seasonal attractions .

"ICE!" will return to Gaylord Palms starting Friday, Nov. 15, with this year's theme featuring the beloved holiday movie "Elf."

Here's what you need to know about Gaylord Palms' cool event and how long you have to attend.

What is Gaylord Palms 'ICE!' attraction? The Gaylord Palms is located at 6000 W Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee. It is well-known for its signature holiday attraction "ICE!," which uses more than 2 million pounds of ice to illustrate favorite scenes from beloved holiday movies through hand-carved ice sculptures.

Patrons will encounter Buddy the Elf from "Elf" and his friends throughout 10 immersive walk-through areas. It will take a team of 140 artisans from Harbin, China, to create the displays.

"Skilled artisans are carving 1,000 tons of colorful ice inside the 9-degree environment to create a holiday wonderland like no other," Gaylord Palms wrote on Instagram.

In addition to the ice sculptures, other features include Cirque: Spirit of Christmas stage show, TwElf Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt, Snow Flow Mountain, Snowball Build and Blast, gingerbread cookie decorating, Elf Training Academy, a Naughty or Nice Escape Room, and Mrs. Claus' Christmas Traditions.

Some additional charges may apply for other activities.

When are the dates for Gaylord Palms 'ICE!' attraction? The hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including holidays, from Friday, Nov. 15, to Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025. This includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

Guests must arrive at the attraction entrance at their scheduled time slot. No early or late admission will be permitted.

How much are tickets to Gaylord Palms Ice! attraction for 'Elf'? Tickets for the Gaylord Palms Ice! attraction range from $29.99 to $42.99 depending on the day, with an adult ticket costing on average $11 more than a kids ticket. Kids under 3 can get in for free. Discounts are available.

There is also a $3 plus tax processing fee per ticket purchased for the event.

Can I purchase tickets for the Gaylord Palms Ice! attraction in person? No. They do not have a box office on-site.

How long does it take to walk through ICE! at Gaylord Palms? That depends on how long it takes you to look at the exhibits or how quickly you get cold.

Typically, it takes guests 20 to 40 minutes to walk through.

How cold does it get at Gaylord Palms Ice in Kissimmee? Do I need to bring a coat? The temperature inside Gaylord Palms Ice! attraction is 9 degrees. Guests will be provided with a parka, but warm clothing and layers are recommended.

"These parkas are calf-length, winter coats with hoods. Parkas are available in all sizes, including children and infants, up to an adult 4XL," the website says.

What is 'Elf' about? Where to stream the hit Christmas movie before attending ICE! event One of the more recent holiday hits, Elf follows Buddy (played by Will Ferrell), a human raised by Santa's elves in the North Pole. Buddy travels to New York City to find his biological father and navigates the city with a childlike whimsy.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the 2003 movie starred James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Asner, and Bob Newhart.
