The Cavs' (13-0) historic start turned in another page of gritty basketball as they downed the depleted Philadelphia 76ers, 114-106, on Nov. 13.

Cleveland is off to the best start in franchise history and are chasing the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors for the best start (24-0) in NBA history. There are only five other teams in NBA history to start the season 13-0. Only one emerged as an NBA champion.

The blistering start has given Cleveland a three-game lead for the best record in the NBA and a seven-game lead over the Indiana Pacers in the Central Division.

Today's game will be the opener of East Group C.

The Cavs are averaging 121.8 points on 51.8% shooting, including 41.2% from beyond the arc. The defense is allowing 110.2 points per game. Cleveland hauls in 41.8 rebounds per game.

Superstar Donovan Mitchell paces the well-balanced attack with 23.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 46.4% from the field.

Mitchell had a 36-point performance in the previous encounter with the Bulls.

Point guard Darius Garland continues his surge with 20.5 points, 6.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 53.4% from the field.

Power forward Evan Mobley and center Jarrett Allen remain a steady force on the interior.

Mobley has recorded 17.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.5 while shooting 55.8% from the field, which is top-20 in the league. Allen touts 13.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 63.9%, which the third-highest percentage in the NBA.

Cleveland's bench was the spark they needed in the previous meeting with the Bulls. They erased a nine-point deficit in under two minutes with a 19-9 run to cap a shifting third quarter. It was just the latest in a series of chess moves from first-year head coach Kenny Atkinson that has proved why this year is different.

Shooting guard Caris LeVert captains the reserves , averaging 11.5 points, 4.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 53.4% from the field. Backup point guard Ty Jerome's microwave scoring adds 10.0 points, 3.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 61.5%, which is the eighth-highest percentage in the league.

After steamrolling most of their early competition, the Cavs have showed their moxie with recent close calls. They beat the Brooklyn Nets by five, Chicago by six, and the Philadelphia 76ers by eight.

The Bulls (5-7) blew a 22-point second half lead against the New York Knicks but left Madison Square Garden with the victory on Nov. 13.

Chicago is averaging 115.5 points per game on 46.5% shooting, including 37.1% from beyond the arc. The defense allows 120.5 points per game. Chicago hauls in 46.8 rebounds per game.

The Bulls play with the league's highest pace at 104.92 and utilized that strength to almost knock off the red-hot Cavaliers back on Monday. Expect a similar style to the track meet in Chicago.

The Bulls trio of shooting guard Zach LaVine, guard Coby White and center Nikola Vucevic all nabbed 20 or more points in the close call. Chicago shot 49.4% from the field and connected on 36.8% from beyond the arc. A valiant concoction that fell short.

White is posting 19. 7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 43.6% from the field.
