Giannis Antetokounmpo still on Warriors' radar

R.Anderson28 min ago

According to The Athletic's Sam Amick, who was speaking on a recent episode of "The TK Show" podcast, Golden State still holds an interest in Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, the only chance the franchise has of bringing the star forward to the Bay Area is if he directly requests a trade, which would require things going drastically wrong with the Bucks. "One that I think is just always gonna be monitored around the NBA is if the wheels fall off the Bucks," Amick said. "We know that Joe Lacob has had dreams of Giannis coming the Warriors' way for a very long time. Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton is gonna be a free agent next summer... I think Giannis is worth monitoring."

More on this storyline

Sam Amick on the Warriors: "It's a little bit like wanting to buy a nice luxury house, but you can't quite afford it, so you just keep checking Zillow to see if the market crashed a little bit and if the prices went down. You need the wheels to fall off somewhere. LeBron and Giannis, those are the kinds of players they dream about, but you have to hope that someone somewhere becomes available." -via YouTube / September 15, 2024 Per play-by-play data I compiled, Kuzma took 77 shots the NBA classified as a hook and converted 60% of them. That's tied for the 17th-most in the NBA, and while he dabbled at center in small-ball Wizards lineups, he's still a more perimeter-oriented player than anybody on the list above him. His 60% conversion rate ranks fourth out of the top 20 hookers (stop it). For comparison, Karl-Anthony Towns and Giannis Antetokounmpo also shot exactly 77 hook shots last season, and they only made 52% and 43%, respectively! -via Basketball Poetry / September 6, 2024 StatMuse: Active players with 5+ All-NBA 1st Team selections: LeBron James Kevin Durant Giannis Antetokounmpo James Harden Luka Doncic Luka is only 25 years old. pic.x.com/jg2ir7cxr9 -via Twitter / September 5, 2024
