Glendale man kidnapped O.C. couple, buried bodies in desert over $80K debt, police say

A Glendale man is facing seven felony charges, including murder, kidnapping, and burglary, in connection with the deaths of a Brea couple last month.

Huangting Gong was arrested last week after being linked to the murders of his business associate Kuanlun Wang and Wang's wife, Jing Li. According to prosecutors, the two men had had a business dispute, and Gong owed Wang over $80,000.

In a three-day span in mid-October, Gong allegedly murdered the couple, drove them out to separate desert locations in Riverside, and burned their bodies along with the couple's two cars.

Investigators also believe Gong stole over $250,000 worth of property from the couple's home.

Gong's arraignment is set for Dec. 2.
