Gloucestershire in pictures: Rainbows and a royal visit

Our weekly round-up of pictures taken across the county includes photos showcasing some brief appearances of better weather.

There was also a royal visit this week as the Princess Royal travelled to Imjin Barracks.

It has been another wet week in Gloucestershire, but there has been the odd spot of sunshine breaking through.

One photographer took full advantage of the changing conditions to expertly catch a rainbow reflection at Gloucester Docks.

The sun finally shone on Thursday, with a clear blue sky for the majority of the day.

It seems one pilot was keen to spread some joy in Stratton, in Cirencester.

The 'green wall' on the Forum in Gloucester is nearing completion.

The wall is set to reduce noise and air pollution and increase biodiversity.

The £107m city centre development is due to be completed by the end of the year.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Logistic Corps, cut a celebratory cake with a large kukri (khukuri in Nepali), the traditional knife used by Ghurkas.

She was visiting Gurkha Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) Support Battalion at Imjin Barracks in Innsworth.

The Brick Project is taking place in Fountain Square in Gloucester until 11 October.

The idea is to brighten up the area, with members of the community designing and painting their own brick.

There has been a number of designs so far, including abstract art and memorial bricks.

October arrived this week, bringing with it promises of autumn hues, longer nights and, of course, Halloween.

With just a few weeks to go until the 31st, pumpkins are bringing pops of orange to fields across the county, including at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park.
