Gordon Addison was born August 22, 1929, in Des Moines Iowa. He and his parents, the late W.D. & Katherine Addison moved to California in 1945. Gordon graduated with a degree in journalism in 1951 from Stanford University where he was the editor of the Stanford Daily. Somewhat a Renaissance man, Addison was a journalist, publisher, maestro, singer, tennis player and avid sports enthusiast! While serving in the Marine Corp, he was editor of the 3rd Marine Division newspaper. After discharge he worked for several newspapers and was owner and publisher of the Arlington Times in Riverside. CA Musically he directed church choirs for 25 years, including Walnut Creek Presbyterian church choir. Residing in Rossmoor, he started the Stanford Alumni Club, was a president of Rossmoor Rotary Club and founded the Ashmoleon Singers which he directed for 9 years. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Cara Addison. He was also the original "girl dad" to his 5 daughters, Jane Spies, Judi Paredes, Sally Raty, Wendy Wilcox & Jill Rogers and by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In later years he learned to appreciate Facebook & Facetime to catch up on the many joyful activities and adventures of his ever-expanding family. He will be greatly missed.
