GPD arrests 5 people after a 5 month drug trafficking investigation
A local drug trafficking organization known as “Billy Blood” was dismantled by the Gainesville Police Department’s Drug Task Force unit.
The organization was responsible for selling fentanyl, cocaine, molly, marijuana and prescription medications, according to a GPD press release.
Eight residential search warrants were issued within the city of Gainesville, Alachua County and Lake County. Officers seized 8.1 grams of fentanyl, 1 kilogram of molly, 17.2 pounds of marijuana, half a kilogram of cocaine and various prescription medications, according to the press release.
That amount of fentanyl was enough to kill over 2,000 people. The street value of the drugs was roughly $54,000.
Twelve firearms and $40,000 were also seized. Two of the firearms were reported stolen, according to the news release.
Several people were arrested: Keegan Campbell, Brandon Anderson, Abraham Thompson, Alphonso Brown, Antalisha Williams and Leneiall Sapp. There are still several warrants out for members of “Billy Blood.”
Campbell and Thompson have both been previously arrested for grand theft of less than $5,000. Thompson and Brown have previously been arrested for various drug trafficking incidents and Anderson was previously arrested for felony battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
