Grand Forks residents invited to National Weather Service open house

Sep. 20—GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks community is invited to attend the National Weather Service's open house Saturday, Sept. 28.

The event is free and open to the public, and will take place at 4797 Technology Circle in Grand Forks, which is located just off of University Avenue, immediately west of I-29.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees will get an introduction to the NWS, tour the office, participate in an interactive severe weather simulation and more.

UND weather balloons will be launched at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There will be a water balloon toss game related to precipitation and rainfall for the children in attendance. There will also be coloring pages and other handouts.

Informational booths with representatives from multiple local partner organizations will be set up.
