Green Bay Packers playing take away, vs the Titans

J.Nelson31 min ago

(WNFL/LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers have picked off their opponent 5 times in the first 2 games of the 2024 season after getting only 7 picks in all of 2023 and are hoping to get more today when they play in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans.

How is that happening?

Packers safety Xavier McKinney talked about that difference.

He said that Jeff Hafley's system has helped them get take/aways.

As for today's game against the Titans, McKinney talked about the Titans offense.

He added that watching film of the opponents has its benefits.

How they've fared

  • The series began in 1972 when the Packers defeat- ed the then-Houston Oilers, 23-10, in the inaugural matchup.
  • Green Bay won four of the first seven games played (1972-98) before Tennessee won three straight games from 2001-08. Since then, the teams have split the last four contests (2012-22).
  • The winning team has scored at least 40 points in three of the last four matchups, with the Packers owning the largest margin of victory in the series when they defeated Tennessee, 55-7, in 2012 at Lambeau Field.
  • The last time

  • Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught both of Rodgers' TDs, becoming the first Packers rookie since Max McGee in 1954 to have multiple touchdown catches in consecutive games.
  • Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill connected on 22 of 27 passes for 333 yards and two touchdownss with one interception.
  • Titans running back Derrick Henry rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries (3.1 avg.) and also completed two passes for 4 yards and a touchdown to tight end Austin Hooper.
