Daniel V. Romero, Sr.

Daniel V. Romero SR passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the age of 82 with his family at his bed side at Kaiser hospital in Fremont, CA. He was born in Fremont, CA. on June 19, 1942 to Nellie Quiroz and raised in Union City, CA. (Decoto) He's survived by his wife, Josephine, daughters Alicia Romero and Francine Baca (Ruben) sister Beatrice Lopez , 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson, many nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Danny JR, daughter Laverne, and granddaughter Veronica Ponce, mother Nellie Quiroz, and three brothers Yemo, Nacho and John. Daniel graduated from James Logan High School in 1960 and enlisted in the US Army right after where he served as a sergeant and paratrooper for the 101st airborne screaming Eagles division at Fort Campbell Kentucky. He worked for Luckys Store as a meat/Butcher, where he retired from after 35 yrs. Daniel loved his family and friends, loved to travel on vacations, favorite pastime was scratching lotto tickets, watching sports on TV. He enjoyed football (49ers) baseball (Giants, A's) basketball (warriors) track, and field, wrestling. He loved to go see his three grandsons and granddaughter that wrestled for James Logan. He was one of their biggest fans. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend . He always took care of business and was always there for his family. He will be dearly missed by all whom he loved and all who loved him. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 4 -7 PM and a memorial service on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 9 AM -10:30 AM followed by burial at 10:45 AM both at Chapel of the chimes 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA.
