Greensboro is one of the best U.S. cities for traveling with your dog, report says. Here’s where to take yours
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Woof, there it is! If you like living in Greensboro, so will your dog.
Sixt rental company recently ranked Greensboro as the 17th-most dog-friendly travel destination in the U.S.
Destinations were chosen based on several factors including the number of dog-friendly restaurants and hotels, veterinarians and animal welfare organizations.
According to Sixt, Greensboro received an overall score of 30.4. The lower a city's overall index score, the more dog-friendly it is.
Sixt says Greensboro's dog-friendly establishments include 106 restaurants, 4 parks, 59 hotels, 18 humane societies and 17 vets.

Dog Parks
BarkPark at Country Park
According to its website, the BarkPark opened in 2003 and is Greensboro's first off-leash park. There are separate areas for small and large breeds.
Southwest Dog Park
The Southwest Dog Park is 2 1/2 acres with separate sections for large and small dogs. There is also fresh water and treats available for your pet.
