Gwyneth Paltrow shared a passionate kiss with Timothee Chalamet while filming sports drama Marty Supreme in New York on Wednesday.

The actress, 52, locked lips with Kylie Jenner 's boyfriend, 28, during a steamy street scene, where he held her against a wall.

The May-December pair star in the upcoming film inspired by the life of Marty Reisman and the world of professional ping-pong players.

The actress's return to the big screen after a five year hiatus was inspired by her daughter Apple, 20, who has a 'crush' on Chalamet.

'Gwyneth signed on to co-star with Timothee in Marty Supreme thanks to her daughter, who has had a crush on the Dune star for years,' an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

The Goop founder and the Call Me By Your Name actor wore vintage-inspired outfits for the scene.

Gwyneth stunned in an elegant floor-length red coat and opera-style black gloves.

Her platinum blonde strands were styled into a sophisticated bun, and she accessorized the look with dangling earrings.

Meanwhile Timothee sported a grey double-breasted suit with a matching tie and a pair of silver-rimmed reading glasses.

His raven hair was parted one the side and gelled down, and he rocked a slight mustache.

The pair were seen filming the scene in the evening time.

Despite having no 'major wish' to act, Paltrow was reportedly 'convinced' to say yes to the offer after her daughter Apple learned that Chalamet is not only producing, but also playing the lead.

'As soon as Gwyneth told Apple that Timothee is not only a producer but also the lead actor, she pleaded with her mom to accept.

'After reading it and loving it, despite having no major wish to act right now, she was convinced by Apple, who intends to be on set as much as possible.'

Plot specifics are still under wraps, but the film, produced by A24, will be a 'fictionalized original, rather than a biopic,' according to Deadline, with Chalamet's character drawing on Reisman – one of the most accomplished American table tennis players of all time.

The native New Yorker, known as 'The Needle,' won more than 22 major table tennis titles between 1946 and 2002 after picking up the sport as a child on the Lower East Side and hustling for money throughout his early years.

He and his doubles partner - Douglas Cartland – later became the opening act for the Harlem Globetrotters, performing a table tennis comedy routine with frying pans.

His autobiography - The Money Player, The Confessions of America's Greatest Table Tennis Player and Hustler - was published in 1974.

Reisman, who once described his career as 'a funny way to spend a life,' died in 2012, aged at 82.

Paltrow, who shares Apple and son Moses, 18, with her ex-husband Chris Martin, will star alongside Chalamet in the upcoming film directed by Josh Safdie. Her role is unspecified.

She most recently starred in Netflix's The Politician and lent her voice to 2022's She Said and an episode of 2023's American Horror Stories.

But her last big silver screen appearance was in Marvel's 2019 superhero adventure Avengers: Endgame in which she reprised her role as Pepper Potts, Iron Man's love interest.

The actress, who is married to producer Brad Falchuk, scaled back her 'incredible acting career' to focus on goop, the wellness brand she launched in 2008 and grew into an estimated $250 million business.

Last year she said she would 'consider' potentially returning to the screen.

'I am happy now with what I am doing in Goop, but I never say never,' she told a panel at the Red Sea International Film Festival.

'I don't know what the future will hold. If I am not busy running Goop, and if one of my best friends, says please come and do that with us, I might consider.'

Paltrow – the daughter of director Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner - was cast by her godfather Steven Spielberg in 1991's Hook, four years before her breakthrough role in 1995's Se7en.

She won an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love and became a primary part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as enjoying roles in The Talented Mr. Ripley, Se7en, Shallow Hal, Contagion and Sliding Doors among others.

Chalamet, who is dating lipkit mogul Kylie, is currently enjoying a meteoric rise to Hollywood stardom and a fast-growing collection of Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for films including Call Me By Your Name, Beautiful Boy and Wonka.

The actor, who was catapulted thanks to his turn in sci-fi blockbuster Dune, will play Bob Dylan in upcoming biopic, A Complete Unknown.
