Ham for the holidays? Honey Baked Ham deli shop is carving out a new Rochester location
ROCHESTER — Ham for the holidays? A national restaurant and meat retailer — Honey Baked Ham — is carving out a space in northwest Rochester.
Alpharetta, Georgia-based Honey Baked Ham recently installed a banner at Suite #200 at 3462 55th St. in the Northwest Plaza shopping area. That's the 3,000-square-foot space recently occupied by I Love Kickboxing.
The future ham home is located between the Hyderabad Indian Grill and Prof Cosmo in the shadow of Sam's Club.
While Honey Baked company has not responded to questions about the project, it has posted a "Coming Soon" notice for the location on its website. Honey Baked Ham also has shops in Minnetonka, Roseville and Burnsville. This will be its first foray into southern Minnesota.
Honey Baked Ham is more than just a place to buy whole hams, though that is certainly its core product.
It also operates as a deli and catering shop. It has a luncheon menu full of sandwiches and salads featuring smoked turkey and, of course, honey-baked ham. As a caterer, Honey Baked Ham provides sandwich buffets, boxed lunches plus meat and cheese trays.
The big question about the new Rochester Honey Baked Ham shop is when will it open?
While the company has not answered that yet, the website notice might provide a clue.
The location is listed as closed currently. However, it also lists "Special Hours" for Nov. 23 through Nov. 27, so it looks like it may open in time for the run-up to this year's very late Thanksgiving holiday.
Hopefully, someone will squeal with the details soon.
