TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Hamilton Center celebrated the grand opening of its Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Services Center on Thursday.

The center offers acute care for adults whose symptoms are expected to improve in less than 24 hours. That care could include treatments like stabilization with medication, individual or group therapy, or care management services.

Natasha Newcomb, Chief of Hamilton Center's Crisis Division, explained the need for a center like this in the community.

"Stabilization services are important because we see an increasing need of individuals who have extenuating factors outside of themselves that we can address to help prevent them from continuing to experience a crisis episode," said Newcomb.

The center, located at 620 8th Avenue in Terre Haute, can be used by people in all of the counties that Hamilton Center serves.
