'Happy Gilmore 2' Will Film In Essex County, Paid Extras Needed Adam Sandler has been spotted all over New Jersey as he films the highly anticipated sequel. A scene will shoot in West Orange this week.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Essex County residents now have a chance to appear in an Adam Sandler movie – no acting experience required.

Sandler has been spotted all over New Jersey in recent weeks as he films scenes for the upcoming Netflix movie "Happy Gilmore 2." This week, it will be Essex County's turn, according to a casting notice for extras on Backstage.com.

The notice from Grant Wilfley Casting says that producers are seeking people to portray golf spectators, with work scheduled to begin this week in West Orange for an exterior day shoot.

The roles – which are non-SAG-AFTRA covered – pay $176 for an estimated 10 hours of work (flat rate). The company said it is seeking talent from West Orange, Livingston, Roseland, Montclair, Verona, South Orange, East Orange, East Hanover and New York City.

Grant Wilfley Casting's website says the company is casting New Jersey locals to work as paid extras on the movie. It will be filming scenes in Bergen, Essex, Monmouth, Morris and Somerset counties from September to November.

"No acting experience required," the website states.

Sandler has stepped back into the titular character's golf shoes for the long-awaited sequel. In recent weeks, he has been spotted all over the Garden State , including Goldberg's World Famous Deli & Bagels in Millburn, Faubourg in Montclair and the Montclair Golf Club.

"Happy Gilmore," released in 1996, was one of Sandler's breakout roles (following 1995's "Billy Madison"). He and Tim Herlihy teamed up to write the script for the original and for this upcoming sequel.

"It ain't over," Sandler teased on Instagram , quoting the original film. "The way I see it... we've only just begun."

Earlier this year, the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission included West Orange on a list of 14 municipalities and four counties that it has deemed a "Film Ready Community."

Each of the awardees has completed the Film Ready New Jersey Program, a state-led training and certification process that prepares towns to work with movie and television producers – and market themselves as potential film destinations. West Orange's town council recently voted to approve a redevelopment agreement that could bring a new movie studio to the township.
