Harold Michael "Mike" Moles

Harold Michael "Mike" Moles, 93 of Kearney formerly of Elm Creek passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Broadwell Assisted Living in Kearney. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil/Prayer Service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com . Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Mike was born August 22, 1931 in Kearney, Nebraska to Harold and Avis (Miller) Moles. He was raised near Elm Creek and attended Elm Creek High School, graduating with the class of 1949. Mike then attended Kearney State College earning his bachelor's degree in Education. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from April 7, 1952 until his honorable discharge on April 6, 1954.

Mike farmed near Elm Creek most of his life. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends. Mike was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Shirley Hubbard of Elm Creek; nieces and nephews Marian Hubbard, (wife of the late Gary Mike Hubbard), Jeff (Lana) Hubbard, Dawn (Dennis) Schneider, Lisa (Larry) Marshall, Tia (Todd) Van Matre, Shawn Hubbard, Harold (Darla) Hubbard, Neal (Tracy) Hubbard, Heather Anderson, April Hubbard, Stacy (Craig) Benson, Tara McCormick, Joe (Rose Mary) Johns, Michelle (Mark) Leeds, Pat (Linda) Johns, Carmen (Tim) Pearse; as well as many great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores Johns; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Johns and Gary Hubbard; nephew Gary Mike Hubbard; and niece, Carol Hubbard.
