The car was stolen from a parking lot on Main Street in Hebron, according to police. When officials spoke to employees of the business, they reported seeing a woman with a dog in the parking lot behaving strangely. Police also observed another car in the lot parked improperly.

When they ran the plates, they discovered that the improperly parked car was owned by a woman that police had encountered before. When they arrived at her residence, the stolen car was parked in the driveway with the suspect and her dog in the car.

Michele McNaughton, 50, was arrested and charged with a DUI and larceny of a motor vehicle. She's scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 16.
