Heisman Memorial Trophy comes to Morgantown car dealership

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — As part of Nissan's yearly tour across the country, the famous Heisman Memorial Trophy has arrived at Premier Nissan of Morgantown.

According to Internet and BDC Sales Manager Matthew Earley, Premier Nissan is the only dealership in the state of West Virginia that received the Heisman this year. On top of the famous football trophy, the dealership was also given an Award of Excellence.

"Nissan does a little tour every single year," said Earley. "But with us being the Award of Excellence winner...we try to stay as transparent and honest with our customers as possible. They chose us and we're very honored, and it's really really cool that we were the ones picked this year."

The trophy itself is one of the most coveted awards in college athletics and is awarded each year to the most outstanding player in college football.

Those who want to see the trophy up close can stop by the dealership on Friday, Sept. 20 from noon to 6 p.m. Earley told 12 News that the event will feature free food and drinks as well as an opportunity to get professional pictures next to the award.

"Anybody's welcome, I don't care where you're from," said Earley. "Everybody come say hi, it's gonna be great...Bring some smiles, we'll have a great time."

Earley said that the trophy will remain at Premier Nissan for a few days following the event, meaning that those who are unable to attend on Friday will still have a chance to stop by and see it.
