Good gourd — it's fall , y'all!

As Texans start to thank their lucky stars after surviving yet another sweltering summer, they're also preparing for spooky season. And there's no better way to get in the Halloween spirit than visiting a pumpkin patch.

We're not talking about run-of-the-mill pumpkin patches in sad parking lots or on the side of a major road or highway, either. Because in Texas, the bigger the pumpkin patch festivities, the better.

These pumpkin patches include a side of spooktacular fun in the form of live music, massive Texas-shaped mazes, hay rides, apple cannons, petting zoos, corn pits, pumpkin painting and more.
