HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING: Dothan teams earn wins over Baldwin County
Both the Dothan girls and boys bowling teams claimed decisive wins over Baldwin County Thursday at the Wind Creek Bowling Alley in Atmore.
The girls team won 911-683 and the boys rolled to a 1233-354 win as the Tiger boys had only three bowlers participate.
In the girls match, Lindsey Bright led Dothan with a 150 score in the traditional round. She earned three strikes and three spares in her round. Bhavi Shah followed with a 126 score that featured a strike and three spares. Sophie Donner added a 115 total with two strikes and one spare.
Dothan took control in the traditional format, outscoring Baldwin County 572-432. After losing the first Baker set 82-76 to Baldwin County, Dothan pulled away by winning the last two Baker sets by scores of 140-66 and 123-103.
During the Baker series, Bright had two strikes and two spares, while Kelsey Peaden and Jillian Hogan had two spares each.
The Dothan boys were led in their win by Landon Conrad with a 193, Gavin Hendershott with a 178 and Tanner Ormes with a 152. Conrad, Hendershott and Ormes all had four strikes during their round. Conrad added five spares, while Hendershott and Ormes had two spares each.
Dothan outscored Baldwin County 796-229 in the traditional format and 437-125 in the Baker series.
