Hooe: A259 Collision leaves four seriously ill in hospital

Four people involved in a two-vehicle collision in East Sussex are in hospital with serious injuries, police have said.

The incident on the A259 at Hooe at about 11:20 GMT on Thursday closed a section of the road for several hours.

The driver of a black Range Rover – a 35-year-old woman from Eastbourne – and one passenger – a 32-year-old man from Croydon – sustained life-threatening injuries.

Another passenger – an 18-year-old woman from Eastbourne – sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The sole occupant of a grey Mercedes – a 59-year-old man from Cambridgeshire – also sustained life-threatening injuries and is in a critical condition.

The incident happened between Pevensey and Little Common roundabouts.

Sussex Police is appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
