Hot in the sun this weekend with a few evening showers
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A hot weekend is ahead with relatively low rain chances.
Temperatures are comfortable this morning but will warm into the low to mid-90s this afternoon. It'll be hot in the sunshine, but not terribly humid.
Rain chances will increase to a 30% later this evening for a few showers that develop inland and drift toward the coast after 4 pm.
A similar set up in expect Sunday with even fewer showers, just a 20% overall rain chance. Highs will be in the low to mid-90s once again with a comfortable northeast breeze.
Rain chances will stay low through Tuesday with just a few spotty evening showers drifting toward the coast each afternoon and evening. Higher chances will come back to the forecast starting Wednesday and increase each day as tropical moisture moves into the Gulf of Mexico.
We are watching this tropical moisture for possible development. Forecast models are confident a tropical system will develop by the middle of next week, but disagree on where it will go and how strong it will be.
We're continuing to monitor this but it is about a week away, so there is plenty of time to watch it.
