House fire near Palmer Park leaves five dogs dead
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) announced the house fire has left five pets dead, and one missing.
CSFD said the fire began in the kitchen of the home located in the 3900 block of Wesley Drive. Fire crews said the owner of the home was cooking, when a fire sparked. The owner made it our safe, however, there were six dogs inside the residence.
According to CSFD, five of them died. Three were given CPR but they succumbed to their injuries. A sixth dog is still missing.

As of 12:57 p.m., CSFD said bulk of the fire has been knocked down, and crews are working to search for any extension.

CSFD reported at 12:40 p.m. it is responding to a structure fire in the 3900 block of Wesley Drive, near Palmer Park. CSFD said crews reported a fire in the kitchen.
