House fire near Palmer Park leaves five dogs dead

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is responding to a house fire near Palmer Park Monday afternoon, responding around 12:30 p.m.
The Gazette news partner KOAA is on the scene of the house, in the 3900 block of Wesley Drive, which is located near Palmer Park.
Crews on the scene report that there is a fire in the kitchen. CSFD says most of the fire has been knocked down at this time, but crews will remain on scene.
According to the Public Information Officer on the scene, six dogs lived at the residence and five of them died due to this fire. The homeowner is currently displaced, but uninjured.
