How to watch Philadelphia Phillies vs. N.Y. Mets for FREE: time, channels

T.Williams43 min ago
There are playoff implications aplenty starting Thursday evening as the Philadelphia Phillies visit the New York Mets.

Starting time is 7:15 p.m. and you can view it on Fox and Fox Deportes or live stream it on fubo TV (FREE trial), Sling TV (discount) or DirecTV Stream (FREE trial and discount).

The oft-injured Taijuan Walker (3-6, 6.29 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 55 strikeouts) will start for the Phillies and Luis Severino (10-6, 3.77 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 149 strikeouts) will get the starting nod for the Mets.

The Phils (91-61, first in the NL East) have all but wrapped up the NL East Division crown but are still fighting the Dodgers and Brewers for the National League's best record and home field through the championship series.

But they are coming off a series in which they lost two of three to the Brewers and fanned 16 times on Tuesday and 16 times on Wednesday.

The Phillies' magic number to qualify for the playoffs is one, and four to clinch the NL East. They lead the Dodgers by one game for best record.

  • Fox and Fox Deportes or live stream it on fubo TV (FREE trial), Sling TV (discount) or DirecTV Stream (FREE trial and discount)
  • The Phillies made the playoffs the past two seasons, losing to Arizona in the 2023 NL Championship Series and to Houston in the 2022 World Series.

Bryce Harper has 40 doubles and 29 home runs for the Phillies. Trea Turner is 12-for-38 with a double, two home runs and five RBI over the last 10 games.

Unlike the Phillies, who opened the season on fire and have never looked back, the Mets are in the playoff hunt after a miserable start.

They finished sweeping the Washington MNationbals on Wednesday with a 10-0 win, as Jose Quintana extended his scoreless streak to a career-high 22 2/3 innings and Brandon Nimmo's three-run homer capped a nine-run fourth.

The Mets (84-68, second in the NL East) have won 15 of 19. They are now a season-high 16 games above .500 and remained tied with Arizona for the second of three NL wild cards — two games ahead of Atlanta for the league's last playoff spot.

Pete Alonso has 31 doubles, 33 home runs and 86 RBI while hitting .246 for the Mets. Jose Iglesias is 15-for-38 with a double over the past 10 games.

Their top offensive player, Francisco Lindor, will miss his fourth straight tonight because of back issues. He might return before this four-game series ends on Sunday.

The teams will play Thursday for the 10th time this season. The Phillies lead the season series 6-3.
