This will be the Cardinal's first-ever game in their new digs. The former Pac-12 program jumped ship along with most of its old conference, leaving the Western-based league to join the ACC, making it a continental conference. It will be interesting to see what Stanford brings to the competitive league, which has the likes of Miami in it. However, the Cardinal came into the season with limited expectations but have a chance to make noise on Friday night. Stanford lost its first game of the season to TCU, at home, before beating up Cal Poly two weeks ago.

Syracuse once again comes into a season where they are a dark horse pick to challenge for a conference championship. With former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord, the Orange's offense has been solid, averaging over 30 points in their first two games. However, if they want to compete with the best in the ACC, their defense needs to show up. The team gave up 28 points to Georgia Tech in its conference opener two weeks ago, and if they want to start the season 2-0 in conference play, they will need a great effort on both sides of the ball.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Orange and Cardinal on the gridiron.
