ICC hosts ‘flea market’ for model train enthusiasts

PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Hundreds of train enthusiasts attended the Peoria Train Fair on Sunday at Illinois Central College's East Peoria campus. The River City Model Railroad Club hosted this event, attended by more than 350 people. Some models were replicas of train cars from Peoria, Europe, and elsewhere. Don MacGregor, River City Model Railroad Club membership chairman and main organizer. He said the fair is like a flea market for train enthusiasts. "You have this feeling you're out there in the real world, riding or driving a train. You don't get to do that much as an engineer, so you get that feeling again, as the model takes you out to the real world," he said. The next train fair will be Feb. 16, 2025, also at ICC.
