Idaho Public Utilities Commission to host hearing about Idaho Power rate increase

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is hosting customer hearings in early December to hear testimony on an application from Idaho Power to change its rates.

According to the Idaho Power application, the company is focused on recovering costs associated with infrastructure investments and labor expenses that were not included in the company's last rate case. If the commission approves the request, the average Idaho residential customer using 950 kilowatt hours per month would see a monthly bill increase of approximately $7.48.

The commission can approve, deny or modify the application.

In-person attendance is required to submit testimony. Customers interested in offering testimony can do so by attending the following hearings:

When: 4 p.m. Dec. 2 Where: American Legion Hall, 447 Seastrom St., Twin Falls

When: 4 p.m. Dec. 3 Where: Idaho Public Utilities Commission, 11331 W. Chinden Blvd., Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise

How to submit written comments to commission

The commission is accepting written comments on Idaho Power's application until Dec. 3. Comments must be filed through the commission's website or by email, unless computer access is not available.

To submit comments using the commission website, go to puc.idaho.gov and click on the "Case Comment Form" link on the upper left side of the page. Use case number IPC-E-24-07 when filling out the form. Commenters must include their name and address.
