Increase in animal calls in St. Paul noted by RCMP

ST. PAUL - Over the past week, St. Paul RCMP responded to 181 calls and executed 15 warrants for arrest - but officers also noticed a significant increase in the number of animal-related calls they received.

According to information from St. Paul RCMP, police "saw a spike in animal calls, responding to seven calls for stray dogs," over the past week. One of the calls was for a dog bit.

"Police are encouraging the public to ensure their pets are properly contained in yards," according to information from St. Paul RCMP.

Check stop

RCMP conducted a check stop over the Thanksgiving weekend in St. Paul. A total of 132 vehicles were checked and RCMP found two drivers impaired by alcohol, with levels over 80 mg.

"Police would like to thank the public for not drinking and driving, and keeping our roads safe," states information from RCMP.

Stolen truck

On Oct. 10, shortly before 4 p.m., a truck, was reported stolen from a residence in Saddle Lake Cree Nation. According to information release on Oct. 17, the truck had not yet been recovered and charges were pending against a man.
