In-person voting procedures for Election Day in Clark County

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) -Many people in Nevada have already voted early in person, mailed their ballot, or put it in a drop box. That still leaves thousands of people to vote in-person Tuesday for Election Day.

Here are some in-person Election Day voting procedures from the Clark County election website.

When it's your turn to vote, your eligibility and signature will be verified. The election clerk will announce your name, as required by Nevada law. After verifying your identity, the clerk will give you a card to activate the voting machine.

A voter then heads to a voting machine. You must insert the card into the machine to activate it for your specific precinct.

Once someone votes, they will then return the card to an election official. A voter will then receive an "I voted" sticker.

Clark County says computers at each site connect to the Election Department's centralized voting registration files. A person's record will be updated at the time of voting to prevent anyone from voting twice.

The county also says voting machines include a voter verifiable paper print out of each ballot that stays with the machine.

People may cast a ballot at any Clark County voting center as long as they are registered in the county.

Mail-in ballot drop boxes will also be available at voting sites.

Polling locations are set to open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters in line before 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
