Italian restaurant Salt & Flour opens in Minneapolis' North Loop

A new Italian restaurant from prominent Twin Cities chef Brian Ingram opened this week in Minneapolis' North Loop.

Salt & Flour is the latest addition to the mixed-use North Loop Green development, which consists of two towers across from Target Field.

Hines, the Texas-based real estate investment, development and management firm behind North Loop Green, completed construction on the project earlier this year .

Salt & Flour is the last of three restaurants to open in the development, joining the café Bassett Hound, which opened this summer, and Ingram's fast-growing Twin Cities brunch chain Hope Breakfast Bar, which opened late last month .

"Salt & Flour is inspired by the dishes I used to make for my mom growing up," Ingram shared in a press release. "She was a single mother, and I often cooked dinner for us. These meals were a way for me to take care of her, and they've stayed with me ever since."

According to Ingram, the restaurant, which features an outdoor patio, spacious bar and dining room, aims to "reimagine Italian tradition with a modern twist."

The menu revolves around fresh, handmade pastas using non-GMO flour from Italy, focaccia pizzas and salads. There's also a marketplace where grab-and-go meals and ingredients can be purchased, as well as a carry-out counter.

"We want to create a space where everyone can find something they love, whether it's a sit-down dinner or a quick meal to grab on the way home," Ingram stated.

Salt & Flour will begin its regular hours of operation next week:
