It’s time for Basketball: Spurs vs Clippers (Part II)

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The first time the Spurs met the Clippers this season, they lost by 40, and were out of the game from the opening tip to the end. The Spurs lost Monday night’s game by 25, losing all four quarters. If the trend continues, the Spurs will lose tonight by 10, which would be encouraging, but not a help for Spurs fans who are dispirited by a losing streak which would reach double digits with a loss tonight. Although this is only the 15th game of the season, this is their final meeting this regular season.

I wouldn’t really expect the Spurs to pull off a victory tonight, but I wouldn’t rule it out either. On any given night, these guys can put together a solid effort, with the biggest problem being whether they can sustain their effort for a full game. So far this season, it’s happened only twice, at Phoenix about three weeks ago.

Tonight marks the beginning of the holiday season, and while I’ll be watching the game and writing the recap, I’ll also be preparing tomorrow’s meal and counting my blessings as I get ready to celebrate how lucky I am to be healthy and with my family during this season. Even if the Spurs lose tonight, I believe that I am incredibly blessed tonight, and I have so much to be thankful for. I hope you can say the same.

Game Prediction: The Spurs will have a Thanksgiving feast at halftime and will sleep through the third quarter in a tryptophan coma.
