Jacket weather expected on mornings this week

C.Brown43 min ago

ST. LOUIS – A cooler airmass is here for the short term as a cold front surges southeast.

The cold front has cleared our viewing area and will allow our air to feel crisp and cool, especially tonight into Monday morning. Light jackets will be needed.

We'll bottom out in the 40s areawide, with only a slight warmup to follow by Monday afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s, and gradually warm a few degrees each day through the week as high pressure largely drives our sensible weather.

As that high slides east of the area, a return of warmer, southerly winds helps bump temperatures to reach the 80s by the end of the workweek and into the weekend. Rain is not in the forecast for the next week. Our jet stream is locked up north, keeping major weather systems away from the bi-state region, as well as tropical moisture locked down south, primarily tied to Hurricane Milton.
