Jacksboro BBQ joint to soon close its doors after 60 years in business
JACKSBORO ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A local small-town staple loved by thousands, with more than half a century of service to the people of Jacksboro, will soon be closing its doors.
Best known for its barbecue, Dairyland Drive Inn has been serving those in Jack County and the surrounding areas for more than 60 years.
In a heartfelt Facebook post , owner David Inman stated, "It is a Happy and Sad time for us, as we will miss the daily contact in the community but not all the hard work!"
Dairyland has been up for sale for some time and has now acquired buyers. According to Century 21 Commercial , the landmark has been in operation since 1963.
Inman's post said those behind Dairyland are thankful for the support from employees and customers over the years and although the property is being sold, the new buyers would bring a new beginning to the Jacksboro community.
Dairyland Drive Inn will be open until November 30, and turkeys and hams will be available for Thanksgiving. Don't wait; go show love and support to this local staple for the last dance.
