Jay Cutler arrested in Tennessee for DUI, gun possession

Former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and three other offenses in Franklin, Tenn., a Franklin (Tenn.) Police Department spokesperson confirmed to the Sun-Times.
The charges include possession of a handgun while intoxicated, violation of the implied consent law and failure to exercise due care. He was released after posting $5,000 bond. If convicted, it would be Cutler's first DUI offense .
Cutler played for the Bears from 2009-16 after the team traded with the Broncos in a blockbuster year. He posted some of the best quarterback seasons in Bears' history — a low bar — and earned a second contract with the team. The Bears decided to cut him after the 2016 season.
