Jeri D. Lannom

February 14, 1935 - June 21, 2024

Jeri D. Lannom, age 89, of Lincoln, NE passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. Jeri was born on February 14, 1935, in Crete, NE to Florence Ruth and Bonner Ward Lannom. He graduated from Crete High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He returned to Lincoln and resumed a job with Lincoln Public Power, now LES. He remained in its service for over 40 years. In 1962, he married Helen Ruth Shilhan, whom he met while working at LES. He was her go-to guy when she developed Parkinson's Disease.

Jeri could fix anything, cut down a tree with the best of them, and rattle off the plots of the numerous detective mysteries he loved to read. He enjoyed cutting out all of the wood projects like tables, cabinets, chests, and plaques that Helen Ruth would then beautifully tole paint. He was a gentleman and a gentle man and always willing to help.

He is preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings; Helen Ruth in 2017; and nephew, Michael Anderson, from earlier this year. He is survived by one sister, Patricia Anderson, in Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews and their families spread across the United States who will dearly miss him, especially his good sense of humor.
