Jersey Mike’s Subs coming soon to Belvidere, Freeport
BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — Belvidere and Freeport are about to get "a sub above" when Jersey Mike's Subs opens soon.
The chain, best known for its "sliced fresh" grilled sub sandwiches, is set to open a restaurant at 1920 Gateway Center Drive, in Belvidere, next to the Starbucks near Walmart.
The sign for the business was installed on Thursday . No opening date was given.
According to Jersey Mike's , another location is planned for 2705 Il Route 26 in Freeport.
There is also a Jersey Mike's Subs location in Rockford, at 6284 E State Street, and Machesney Park, at 1513 West Lane Road.
Jersey Mike's hosts an annual "Day of Giving" on March 27th, to raise money for non-profits, such as The Literacy Council and the Special Olympics.
The chain was started in 1956 with the first location on the Jersey Shore in New Jersey.
