Joan Vassos Reveals Unseen Golden Bachelorette Wardrobe Malfunction
Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos is opening up about a wardrobe malfunction that viewers didn't see on TV.
Joan, 61, recalled filming her hometown date with suitor Charles "Chock" Chapple in Wichita, Kansas, which was shown in episode 6, when one of the silicone breast covers she was wearing under her sundress came loose due to the hot weather.
"It was honestly like 105 degrees ... I had those on because I have the sundress on, and you can't have bra straps showing," the Golden Bachelorette star explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on Wednesday, November 6.
Joan continued, "It's probably three hours into the date, and I've just sweated for hours and hours," adding that Chock was telling his family and friends "how much I adore this woman and this journey we've had."
"As he's talking, I can feel the boob pad coming unstuck," Joan said. "I feel it starting to slip and I'm trying to stop it with my arm, and I can't do it. It makes it down to my stomach, and then it comes right off the bottom of the dress, and there it is by my foot!"
"We're standing in front of everybody," the private school administrator continued. "There's no chance nobody saw it. But the cameras, I don't think caught it, because they definitely would've shown it. So that was the one that I got away with."
Joan's embarrassing moment clearly didn't affect her chances with Chock, 61, who is among her final two suitors out of 24 contestants . Viewers will see Joan decide between the insurance executive and emergency room doctor Guy Gansert , 66, during the Golden Bachelorette season finale next Wednesday, November 13, on ABC.
With Golden Bachelorette coming to an end, the cast of the inaugural season recently shared exclusively with Us Weekly whether they'd be interested in being the next Golden Bachelor, following in the footsteps of Gerry Turner . (Joan was initially one of Gerry's suitors on Golden Bachelor but dropped out in week 3 due to a family emergency.)
"[I'm] giving it some thought," Mark Anderson, who is the father of The Bachelor season 28 star , told Us. "It's a bit of a life change. But yeah, definitely thinking about it."
Charles Ling said, "If really an opportunity knocks on the door, maybe, probably I need to sort it out. And also I need to probably talk to my kids whether I should move on or not necessarily move on. [It's] kind of too early to make a call at this moment."
Meanwhile, Joan told Us that Mark or Charles L. would be great choices to lead the next season, but she can think of "at least five guys" who would be "really good" at being the Golden Bachelor.
"I think I could think of many more that I think would be really good," the Golden Bachelorette told Us. "And I think after people watch this [Men] Tell All that they're going to see the same thing. That there's a lot of personality and there's a lot of kindness and really open men that could navigate this journey as well as I did. Or maybe even better because now they've kind of done it once. And so once you've watched it happen and what you've kind of gone through it."
