Joel Klatt believes Texas has the best offensive line in college football
When thinking about and what Steve Sarkisian has built, it's easy to point out Quinn Ewers and the skill position players around him. But the offensive line has been incredible and if you ask FOX's Joel Klatt, they have turned into the best unit in college football. Klatt does not see another College Football Playoff contender with a front five as good as the Longhorns.
"I think this is the best offensive line in college football," Klatt said . "They're the most experienced, in particular, of the real contenders. A lot of these guys for Texas have played for three straight years together."
Sarkisian inherited two of the current starters when taking over the job back in 2021 — left guard Hayden Conner and center Jake Majors . The three others were members of the , one folks in Austin will be talking about for a long time. Left tackle Kelvin Banks and right guard DJ Campbell were both five-star prospects while right tackle Cameron Williams is the lone first-year starter.
Having talent and combining it with experience has become massive in college football, especially when discussing an offensive line gelling. In Klatt's eyes, those five being so good has made Texas into the team they are heading into Saturday's matchup against .
"They are owning the game and the tempo of the game," Klatt said. "In large part, they have been able to protect their defense as well which allows them to be the No. 1 scoring offense in the country and the No. 1 scoring defense in the country. So, they're a complete team."
A few talented defensive fronts have already lined across Texas this season. likely will have two first-round defensive tackles while Brent Venables has done a great job building his defense in Norman. Both were handled throughout four quarters in what turned into large wins for Texas.
Georgia will be the next and potentially toughest test of the season. If the UT offensive line finds success, Klatt will have even more proof to his claim.
