John Krasinski named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. See his ‘instructional video’ with Stephen Colbert.

People magazine has anointed its 2024 Sexiest Man Alive , and it's not one of the top contenders being buzzed about this week.

Actor-director John Krasinski took the title.

Yes, Jim Halpert from " The Office ."

Montclair's Stephen Colbert made the announcement on "The Late Show" Tuesday night (see video below).

He turned around to look at the magazine cover on a screen and surveyed the image of Krasinski splashed across it.

"Sure," Colbert said. "I mean, I uhh ... I mean, look at him. I get it. Plus, we're friends, so a very, very sexy congrats to the very sexy John Kra-sexy."

"I just really thought this was gonna be my year," the dejected talk show host said to a big "awww" from the audience.

"Nah, who are we kidding, I'm never gonna be the Sexiest Man Alive!"

With that, Krasinski dashed onstage.

"I just came to see if you're OK," the " Office ," " A Quiet Place " and " Jack Ryan " star told Colbert, 60.

"Wow, that is so thoughtful," the host replied. "Which is, in itself, such a sexy quality. I'm beginning to see why they gave it to you."

"Well, I think it's that and the biceps, but ..." said Krasinski, 45.

"I mean, you beat me at arm wrestling once," Colbert shot back.

"Twice," Krasinski said.

Colbert: "OK, so math is sexy too now, evidently."

He reiterated his jealousy over the title.

"I'm so proud to see my friend go from goofy, lovable boy next door to big dumb sex hunk. I wish I could do the same."

Krasinski said it actually is possible if Colbert follows the six-step process he used. So Colbert popped in his instructional video, "6 Simple Steps to Sexiness."

Colbert starred alongside Krasinski in the video, which advised "sexy" candidates to replace unhealthy foods with water and raw eggs — to give you salmonella (which can help you lose weight, Krasinski advised ... do not try at home).

Chris Evans , People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2022 , also makes an appearance in the video. Colbert steals his saliva to get to the next step: extracting his sexy DNA for a drinkable serum.

Krasinski, who called Colbert "Stephon" in the video, also advised swapping exercise for sexy-ercise, which, as demonstrated by both of them, means striking awkward poses on a treadmill.

After drinking the Evans-derived serum, Colbert undergoes a gnarly transformation and Chris Evans.

"I feel hot," he says after removing bandages on his face.

Krasinski, who grew up in Newton, Massachusetts (Evans is a fellow Mass. guy) sat down with Colbert for a formal interview, too.

"Thanksgiving's gonna be great," the actor said of the "sexiest" news, which arrives on two different People covers featuring Krasinski.

The actor, who is married to Oscar nominee Emily Blunt ("Oppenheimer"), his "A Quiet Place" co-star, said he'd have to stay in tip-top shape for his upcoming starring role in a "Jack Ryan" movie .
