John A. Montigney, 46, of Spring Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday
morning in the Inpatient Unit of Hospice Care of the VNA at the Heritage
House, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Plymouth, Jan. 17, 1958, a son of the late John and
Katherine Cadwalder Montigney. He was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High
School, class of 1978. He was formerly employed by Sunshine Market in
Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Montigney was a member of the Messiah Primitive Methodist
Church, Bear Creek, and a member of its choir. He also was a member of the
American Pool Players Association.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, the former Karen Washney; children,
Christina, John and Heather at home; brothers, Boyd, Victor, Leroy Montigney,
Wilkes-Barre; Bruce, Willard and Frank Montigney, Florida; Hank Wren,
Wilkes-Barre; sister, Joelle Arnold, Edwardsville; nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. from the
Messiah Primitive Methodist Church, 110 Pittston Blvd., Bear Creek, with the
Rev. Reginald H. Thomas, pastor, officiating.

Friends may call today from 5-9 p.m. at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park
Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, on Friday morning from 10-11 a.m. at
the Messiah Primitive Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made to the Messiah
Primitive Methodist Church, 110 Pittston Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 or to
the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
