November is shaping up to be a historic month for combat sports. While Mike TysonJake Paul are going head-to-head on November 15 in Arlington, Texas, Jon Jones Stipe Miocic are going to headline the UFC 309 in a legacy-defining match.

Returning from a 20-month layoff, Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion, will face the former two-time UFC heavyweight champion on November 16 at Madison Square Garden in NYC to determine the potential greatest heavyweight of all time. This long-anticipated fight has left almost every UFC fan excited, and it is a must-watch fight for every MMA fan. But even though Jones vs. Miocic is such a high-stakes fight, there is a danger looming over it. According to reports, Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul has beaten the UFC event in terms of worldwide searches, and that too by a landslide.

UFC 309 fails to match the Tyson-Paul hype An Instagram page MVP Updates posted several pictures showing the comparison between UFC 309 and the Tyson vs. Paul event on Google Trends. The screengrabs, starting from November 5 to November 11 clearly showed the Netflix event beating the UFC 309 all over the world in terms of search interest.

The post then showcased the worldwide trend of the last 7 days where the boxing event has completely overtaken the legacy-defining fight of Jon Jones . It further showed trends in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. Unsurprisingly, the boxing event was still dominating UFC 309 in every single region tested.

While this simply proves user interest in the event, there is a very real possibility that it might affect the UFC 309 pay-per-view buy rate. This near clash will divide the combat sports fans and they would rather see the return of Mike Tyson after 20 years than Jones fighting a 42-year-old former champion. Earlier, the Jones vs Miocic fight was supposed to happen last year on the UFC 295 card, but the heavyweight champion had to withdraw due to an injury. Since then, the hype for the fight has died down, and coming up against such a massive event further hurts the fight's reach.

If it happens, this will not be the first time that the UFC will suffer a dip in 2024. Earlier this year, UFC 306 went head-to-head against the Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga event, which seriously diminished its revenue prospects, despite the UFC event breaking many records. The bigger thing was that both these events happened just 2 miles apart from each other and Alvarez once again showed everyone why he is the king of September fights in Las Vegas.

It looks like Jake Paul has been keeping a keen eye on the trends. He shared the post on his story and took credit for the domination of boxing.

Jake Paul's arrogant reaction El Gallo shared the picture on his Instagram story and wrote, "Don't be mad...be happy." He acknowledged every annoyed and angry fan over the media attention that Paul was getting and asked them to be happy.

Jake Paul implied that the win of boxing against the UFC happened because of him. Furthermore, Netflix has made the event free for its users, making things even more difficult for Jon Jones. As UFC 309 will not only go against Tyson vs Paul but fans are also hyped for the co-main event between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, who are most probably going to steal the show.
